One of the main purposes of first names is to help identify the gender of a person – especially when it comes to written correspondance with unknown people. So genderless names are IMO pure nonsense as they make this impossible. How else should I e.g. know if I address someone with "Mister" or "Miss" as with his/her first name, if I haven't met that person before!?!
